As the weeks go by the odd looking lumps in Jo’s potting shed start to take shape and (hopefully) resemble the required prop from the script of Kilpeck Pantomimes ‘A Christmas Carol’. Most objects start as scrunched up newspaper or lumps of cardboard, coated with layers of paper strips stuck on with wallpaper paste. Once dry the objects are painted and usually finished off with glitter glue or varnish.
Making props is fantastic fun if you enjoy being creative. There is always a challenge every year to make something unusual either in shape or size. This year’s odd commission is a piece of tarmac – still working on that one!
